• Support women and families in our catchment area, including High Level, La Crete, and Fort Vermilion. Women can also opt to travel for midwifery services in High Level. 

• Offer prenatal visits at the Pine Center in La Crete. Clients in High Level, Fort Vermilion and surrounding areas will have appointment in an alternate location, if possible.

• Deliveries can occur at the Northwest Health Center in High Level or out-of-hospital deliveries can be at home/home setting within 30 minutes of Emergency Services/EMS (including La Crete and Fort Vermilion).

• Midwives at the Northwest Health Center are full-scope, including managing inductions/augments and epidurals.

• Midwives remain on-call 24/7, therefore clients in care have access to a midwife by phone and/or in-person assessments, if warranted. If a midwife is off-call alternative arrangements are made with the hospital physicians or midwife.

• Postpartum/Baby care can be a combination of hospital, home and clinic visits.

• Philosophy of our midwifery care is to promote growth, and empowerment through informed choice. We honor the journey of parenthood and understand that birth needs support and tailored care.

• We are not able to offer care to all who request. If we are able to accept you into care we will contact you prior to 12 weeks. Otherwise, your name will remain on the waitlist in case a spot does open up. If you do not hear from us please access prenatal care through a physician.
